Angela Britton
Angela Britton is the VP of Clinical Operations. She joined the team in 2024 and is responsible for the operational delivery of the company’s clinical trials. She works in strategic partnership with the scientific teams to translate drug development strategy into clinical trial conduct. Acta delivers trials through partnerships with Clinical Research Organizations, ensuring ethical, efficient and high-quality Acta trials and clinical operations.
She has over 25 years of experience working in the clinical trial sector with pharma, biotech, government, and academia on early phase trials (preclinical through phase 2) in a broad range of therapy areas, with a focus on rare diseases and special populations. She applies her experience leading clinical trial operations in neurological and neuromuscular trials at Acta, focusing on Alzheimer’s disease and other brain health-related clinical trials. She brings a deep understanding of the entire clinical trial process from inception to close-out. She has led clinical trials for both pediatrics and adults in various domains, most recently in neurology, focusing on Down syndrome-associated Alzheimer’s disease (DS-AD).
Prior to joining Acta Pharmaceuticals in 2024, she was the acting Chief Operating Officer at Pentara. She worked as the Head of Clinical Operations at Akashi Therapeutics, LuMIND IDSC, and Lupus Therapeutics, where she oversaw the development and operations of the clinical trial network and the development and conduct of clinical trials. She also served as the manager of clinical operations at the Cooperative International Research Group. Angela earned her master’s in clinical research administration from the George Washington University and her B.A. from the University of Iowa.
